My journey into shibari began as a model. I experienced every knot, every tension, and every release with my own body. More than a decade later, I create as a rigger, a storyteller whose stories are woven not with words, but with rope.
This performance is rooted in the traditions of classical shibari, exploring its timeless forms, patterns, and aesthetic principles. It unfolds as an intimate dialogue between the soft, expressive human body and the raw elements of nature: rope, bamboo, stone, and the invisible force of gravity. Through tension and release, suspension and grounding, the work reveals the delicate balance between control and surrender, structure and organic flow.
Equally central is the emotional connection between people. Every movement, every knot, and every transition becomes a form of nonverbal communication, expressing trust, vulnerability, care, and mutual presence. The performance invites the audience to witness not only the physical interaction between bodies and materials but also the invisible emotional bonds that shape each moment.
Performance duration: approximately 30 minutes and evolves through a series of carefully composed poses and dynamic transitions. It features at least one dramatic 90 or 180-degree rotation, creating striking shifts in perspective and emphasizing the continuous transformation of space, balance, and human connection.
